Social Media News: October 2017
If there's one thing that is constant about social media, it's that it is ever changing. Some of your favorite social media platforms rolled out big changes this month. Here's the highlights of what you should know:
-Instagram Enables Cross-Posting Stories to Facebook: My favorite social media update this month! Now when you create and publish an Instagram story, you can either manually choose to push it to Facebook stories or have it automatically do so. Two birds with one stone - nice!
-Instagram Introduces Go Live With a Friend: Now you can go live with another person inside Instagram! The host can invite another user to join them and the screen will split with the host above and the guest down below.
-Facebook Allows You to Share Your Screen: When you go live on Facebook, now you can share your screen with viewers. This is really cool for people who do training videos, how-to's, webinars, and more. Instead of recording those videos to post later, now you can do the same thing live and in front of your audience!
-Facebook Introduces Dwell Time for Ad Targeting: You can now target people who have spent time viewing your ads on Facebook or Instagram, but didn't engage or take an action. This is really exciting for people who run a lot of ads on Facebook!
What do you think of these changes? Which one are you most excited to try out? Let me know in the comments below!
